The Course of the Six Day War <\/h2>\n The Southern Front \u2013 The Egyptian Front <\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\nOn June 5, 1967, within three hours, the Israeli Air Force wiped out the entire Egyptian Air Force, which had been ready for the war against Israel. After that, the Israeli forces captured the Gaza Strip and the entire Sinai Peninsula, reaching the Suez Canal. On June 9, the TDF completed all its missions on the southern front.

On the morning of the first day of the war, the Jordanians opened fire with small arms and artillery and mortar shelling. The Jordanian Air Force fired on the entire sector, including Tel Aviv. Limited IDF forces were positioned opposite the Jordanian forces since most of the army was concentrated on the Egyptian front. Nevertheless, within three days the IDF forces conquered all of Judea and Samaria, including East Jerusalem. The remaining Jordanian forces retreated to the eastern side of the Jordan River. Judea and Samaria were captured with hardly any battles (except for the Battle of the Dotan Valley), however, fierce battles were waged in Jerusalem.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
